Introducing Ludo - our special and somewhat shy 5 year old Siberian Husky boy who needs a generous and patient family to help him learn to be comfortable in the world and be a part of family life again. Ludo is such a beautiful looking boy - he has a rust coloured coat, striking green eyes and the cutest, floppy ears that bounce as he walks. His ears have a life of their own and it's hard not to giggle as you watch them flap as you're out walking! Ludo is a sweet and affectionate chap with the people he has bonded closely with - he loves their pats , praise and treats. He is very smart, he sits and looks to you for direction so he will be fun to train once settled into his new home. It does take Ludo some time to feel comfortable with new people and to fully trust them. Once he loves you he's a total sook - he will come to you to ask politely for pats and nudge you for more if you stop too soon. He will lay at your feet and give you gentle kisses to show his love. Ludo will become uncomfortable if there is too much activity going on around him. He can feel pressured and anxious being forced into situations so he requires a very quiet, easy-going home environment with someone who has time and patience. If you give him space he will come to you when he's ready for attention. Ludo enjoys a good walk - once you put on the lead and your shoes and hit the footpath he's at his most confident and will walk all day! He would best suit a confident single person or couple who are experienced with dogs - especially ones that need to adapt to situations at their own pace. He requires a home with no children or visiting children and one where he can be given his own safe space away from visitors if he feels overwhelmed. He is wary of going to the vet so will need your help to feel confident with vet visits again. Ludo may be a good match with another gentle medium breed dog as a companion as he may benefit from having a playful doggy role model. He may also be OK as an only dog. As with most of our arctics we suggest a home without pocket pets or cats. His new family will preferably be local to the Central Coast, Sydney or Newcastle areas and will need to meet with him a couple of times prior to taking him home to build his trust in them. If you have the confidence, patience and relaxed environment to make a difference to our lovely Ludo's future then he will reward you with his delightful and loyal companionship.
